🌅 Morning Market Report – 17 October 2025

1️⃣ Overnight Global Cues Wall Street closed lower: S&P 500 -0.63% | Nasdaq -0.47% | Russell 2000 -2.09% Regional banking scare: KBW Regional Banking Index plunged 6%+ after two U.S. regional lenders reported fraud losses, triggering a risk-off mood in financials. Gold rallied over 3% to a new record high, driven by safe-haven demand. US 10-year yield eased 6 bps to 3.97%, lowest in a month, as markets fully price in two 25 bps Fed cuts by year-end. Crude oil fell 1.3% to $61.13, extending losses amid weaker global demand. US macro data weak: Philly Fed Index slipped to its lowest since 2021, signaling manufacturing contraction. Bessent estimates the U.S. shutdown cost up to $15B/day to the economy. Geopolitics: Trump said he will meet Putin to discuss the Ukraine war, adding global diplomatic uncertainty. 2️⃣ Indian Market Setup SGX Nifty indicates a flat to mildly positive open amid global caution. Falling US bond yields and lower crude may cushion downside for domestic markets. Gold-linked stocks and IT names may outperform, while financials could stay choppy due to U.S. regional bank headlines. Eyes on FII flows, which could turn supportive if yields stay below 4%. 🔖 Stocks to Watch

TITAN
– may benefit from record-high gold prices
SBIN
– watch for reaction post U.S. bank-led volatility; strong support near ₹875 ⚙️ Overall View India likely to open steady, with global weakness offset by domestic stability and cooling crude. Expect sector rotation between IT, gold-linked stocks, and defensives, while banks may consolidate. Short-term bias: Neutral to mildly bullish above 25,700 on Nifty.
