MSCI November 2025 Index Review: Key Changes for India
In its latest semi-annual reshuffle, MSCI has upgraded Paytm (One 97 Communications) and Fortis Healthcare to the MSCI India Standard Index, reflecting their growing market capitalization and liquidity. Alongside, GE Vernova T&D India and Siemens Energy India have also joined the Standard Index.
Meanwhile, Tata Elxsi and Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) have been moved down to the Small-Cap Index, leading to potential outflows from global passive funds that track MSCI benchmarks.
The changes will take effect after market close on November 24, 2025, slightly increasing India’s weight in the MSCI Standard Index to 15.6%.
Impact:
Upgraded stocks like Paytm and Fortis may see foreign inflows and improved visibility among global investors, while downgraded names could face short-term selling pressure. Overall, the rejig highlights India’s rising prominence in global equity indices and continued investor confidence in its market fundamentals.
