🛢 OIL (Daily Chart) – Technical Breakout Report

OIL
is displaying a strong bullish structure on the daily timeframe. The price is trading comfortably above all key short-term moving averages including the 8 EMA, 33 EMA, and 50 EMA, and importantly, it is also sustaining above the 200 SMA. This alignment of moving averages indicates trend strength across both short-term and positional horizons, suggesting that the broader structure has shifted in favour of the bulls. From a pattern perspective, a clear Cup & Handle formation can be observed on the chart. After a prolonged corrective phase, the stock formed a rounded base, gradually recovered to complete the cup structure, and is now consolidating in a shallow handle formation. Such setups typically precede continuation breakouts when price sustains above the handle resistance. Volatility conditions further support the bullish case. Bollinger Bands (20,2) are visibly contracting, signalling volatility compression and energy build-up. Historically, such squeezes are followed by sharp directional moves. Given the prevailing trend and pattern structure, the probability currently favours an upside expansion. Momentum indicators are neutral to positive, with RSI holding above the 50 zone and showing no visible negative divergence. A push above higher resistance levels could accelerate momentum. Technically, a decisive move above 490 can trigger fresh buying interest with potential targets placed at 520 and 560. The risk level for this setup is defined below 460, which lies beneath the handle support and short-term moving average cluster. Overall, the stock remains structurally bullish, and a breakout above 490 could open the door for the next leg of the uptrend, provided price sustains with supportive volume.
