Ola Electric: Hope Rally or Beginning of a Bigger Shift?

OLAELEC
has witnessed a sharp bounce in the last two sessions, but the key question is — is this a trend reversal or just a temporary recovery? Technically, the stock is still in a clear downtrend, making lower highs and lower lows. It continues to trade below its 200-day moving average, indicating that the long-term trend remains weak. The recent rise seems to be a relief rally from oversold levels, as the stock bounced from the lower Bollinger Band and RSI recovered from sub-30 levels. The move is also supported by macro sentiment. Rising tensions between the US and Iran have brought back concerns over crude oil supply. Since India relies heavily on oil imports, such situations strengthen the EV narrative, pushing investors toward electric vehicle stocks like Ola Electric. However, this appears to be more of a sentiment-driven move rather than stock-specific strength. The company is still in a high investment phase, facing profitability challenges and strong competition from players like TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, and Ather. From a trading perspective, ₹30–32 is immediate resistance, while a stronger hurdle lies near ₹40–45. Only a sustained move above these levels can indicate a real trend change. Conclusion: The current rally reflects hope and short covering, not confirmation of a structural turnaround. The EV story is strong for the future, but for now, the stock needs more strength to prove a real shift.
