SAIL Technical Outlook: Bullish Setup Near Key Resistance
Steel Authority of India Ltd. (
SAIL
) is showing a constructive technical setup on the daily timeframe, with the stock trading around ₹179.65 after recovering strongly from its recent lows. The broader trend remains positive as the stock is trading above its key short-, medium- and long-term moving averages, including the 20 EMA, 50 EMA, 100 SMA and 200 SMA.
Price action indicates that SAIL has been consolidating in the ₹170–180 zone after recovering from the ₹160–165 area. The stock is now approaching an important resistance zone around ₹180–183. A sustained move above this zone could provide further strength to the ongoing recovery and potentially open the way toward the ₹188–190 region.
Momentum indicators are also supportive. The daily RSI is around 61, remaining above the neutral 50 mark and indicating positive momentum without entering an overbought zone. The Bollinger Bands show the price moving toward the upper band, reflecting improving buying momentum. However, the stock may need a decisive expansion in price and volume to sustain the next leg of the upmove.
The MACD remains in positive territory, although the recent moderation in the histogram suggests that momentum has temporarily cooled and may require fresh buying participation for further acceleration.
On the downside, ₹176–174 is an important near-term support zone. Holding above this area would keep the current structure constructive, while ₹170–168 remains the next important support zone. A decisive break below these levels could weaken the near-term setup and bring the ₹160–162 zone into focus.
Overall, SAIL maintains a positive technical outlook as long as it sustains above the ₹174–176 support zone. The ₹180–183 region remains the key hurdle to watch for confirmation of further strength.
