This is not simply a fundraise for an existing business. It is an important step in the evolution of one of Adani Enterprises' major infrastructure platforms. The interesting part of this transaction is not simply the $1 billion amount. It is what the transaction tells us about the evolution of Adani Enterprises' airport business. AEL has spent years building and expanding infrastructure platforms. The entry of large institutional investors into Adani Airports provides an external valuation reference for one of those businesses and brings fresh equity capital into the platform.
