🧬 Major Approvals & Launches Alembic Pharma recently received final USFDA approval for its generic Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Liposome Injection, used in treating cancers like ovarian cancer, Kaposi’s sarcoma, and multiple myeloma. The approval strengthens its oncology and US generics portfolio, adding to its pipeline of complex injectables and niche formulations. The company also secured approvals for several other US generic drugs, including Macitentan Tablets (for pulmonary hypertension), Paroxetine Extended Release Tablets, and Phytonadione Injectable Emulsion. 💼 Acquisition Activity Alembic’s US subsidiary announced the acquisition of Utility Therapeutics Ltd. for around USD 12 million. Utility Therapeutics specializes in UTI (urinary tract infection) treatments, including Pivya, which is already approved by the USFDA. This move expands Alembic’s specialty drug presence in the US market and strengthens its anti-infective portfolio. 📊 Financial Highlights For the quarter ended March 2025 (Q4 FY25), Alembic reported a 12% decline in net profit, despite revenues rising by about 17% year-on-year. Operating margins stayed steady around 16%, supported by better product mix and cost control. Growth was led by the US generics business, while the India formulations segment showed steady double-digit growth.
