⚙️ Business and Expansion Updates
CG Power has announced a major step into the semiconductor sector through its new subsidiary, CG Semi Pvt Ltd. The company is setting up a large Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, with a total investment of around ₹7,600 crore spread over the next five years. This marks a strategic diversification beyond its core electrical equipment business and positions CG Power as one of the first Indian industrial players entering the semiconductor manufacturing space.
Additionally, the company is expanding its traditional operations by setting up a new switchgear manufacturing unit in western India with an investment of around ₹750 crore. This will enhance production capacity for high-voltage and low-voltage products, catering to both domestic and export demand.
📈 Orders and Growth Momentum
CG Power recently secured one of its biggest-ever orders, worth about ₹640 crore, for 765 kV transformers from Power Grid Corporation. This large order reinforces its leadership in power transmission equipment and helps strengthen its backlog for FY26.
The company’s revenue has been growing steadily, supported by strong demand for transformers, motors, and industrial systems. In the latest quarterly results, consolidated revenue showed growth of over 20% year-on-year, supported by project execution and rising domestic infrastructure activity.
