HINDZINC
🔍 Recent Performance & Financials For the quarter ending March 2025, Hindustan Zinc posted a net profit of about ₹3,003 crore, up ~47% YoY. Revenue in that quarter rose ~20-21% YoY. The company achieved record metal production, especially zinc, and also benefited from stronger domestic zinc and silver prices. Margins improved, helped by cost control, better premiums, and favorable metal market dynamics. 🏗 Expansion, Projects & Strategy They approved a major greenfield / expansion project (~₹12,000 crore scale) to expand refined metal capacity by ~250 kilo tonnes per annum, along with related mines & mills. As part of its growth plans, the company is putting in place a tailings reprocessing plant (10 MTPA capacity) to recover additional metal and reduce environmental impact. They are also scaling up renewable energy usage: entering into large‐scale PPAs / partner agreements to supply a big chunk of their power from renewable sources. 💡 Other Notable Updates Hindustan Zinc announced its first interim dividend for FY26. Vedanta (the promoter) has sold small portions of its stake in HZL in block deals to institutional investors, partly to strengthen its own balance sheet. Analysts are pointing to the company’s exposure to silver as somewhat undervalued, meaning potential upside if silver prices stay high or rise.
