1. New solar capacity commissioned
NTPC Green Energy recently commissioned 270 MW of solar capacity at the Khavda-II solar project in Gujarat. This project is part of the large Khavda renewable energy park and significantly increases the company’s total renewable capacity.
2. Additional solar project operational in Andhra Pradesh
The company also started commercial operations of about 91.6 MW solar capacity in Andhra Pradesh, which is part of a larger solar power project. This added capacity has further strengthened its renewable portfolio.
3. Aggressive renewable capacity expansion
NTPC Green Energy has been continuously adding new solar and wind projects across India. The company is focusing on building large renewable parks and hybrid projects to rapidly expand its clean energy generation capacity.
4. Role in NTPC’s long-term renewable targets
NTPC Green Energy is the renewable arm of NTPC Ltd and plays a major role in achieving the group’s target of around 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
5. Heavy capex phase
The company is currently investing heavily in solar, wind, hybrid projects, battery storage and green hydrogen. Because of this expansion phase, earnings may fluctuate in the short term while capacity additions continue.
