Emcure Reports 48% Profit Growth, Driven by Poviztra Launch and Global Expansion

Emcure Pharmaceuticals posted a strong Q3 performance, with net profit rising 48.2% YoY to ₹231 crore (after an exceptional expense of ₹38 crore due to labour code changes). Revenue grew 20.4% to ₹2,363 crore, supported by double-digit growth in both domestic (+15.4% to ₹1,025 crore) and international markets (+24.5% to ₹1,338 crore). EBITDA surged 27.2% to ₹460 crore, with margins at 19.5%, reflecting operational strength. A key highlight was the launch of Poviztra, India’s first biological injectable semaglutide (for weight management and diabetes), launched in partnership with Novo Nordisk. With a 4–5 month exclusivity window, Emcure is aggressively rolling it out across Tier I and II cities, aiming to capture early market share before generic entry. In-licensed products contributed ~7% of revenue. Internationally, the Rest of World (RoW) business grew 30.7%, driven by ARV and non-ARV demand, while Europe saw momentum from Manx and Liposomal Amphotericin B — the latter being the first generic in a $300 million market. The acquisition of Manx has also doubled Emcure’s footprint in the UK. With innovation, licensing, and global reach driving growth, Emcure is positioning itself as a key player in chronic care and specialty therapeutics.
