IREDA’s Strong Q1 Growth in FY26

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) reported robust growth in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025–26, with a 29% YoY increase in loan sanctions , reaching ₹9,136 crore. Loan disbursements also rose by 31% YoY to ₹6,981 crore, reflecting strong demand for renewable energy financing. IREDA’s outstanding loan book grew by 27% YoY , standing at ₹79,960 crore as of Q1FY26. The agency continues to play a pivotal role in India’s green energy transition, with solar projects accounting for 24.5% of its portfolio, followed by wind and small hydro at 17.5% and 11.4% , respectively. State utility loans constitute 24% of its total portfolio. IREDA Chairman Pradip Kumar Das highlighted the agency's readiness to support India’s renewable energy ecosystem through effective financing solutions, underscoring its critical contribution to the nation’s clean energy goals.
