KEC Secures ₹1,303 Crore in Fresh T&D, Cable Orders
KEC International Limited has announced new order wins worth ₹1,303 crore across its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Cables & Conductors segments, further strengthening its robust global project pipeline.
Key Highlights:
Order Scope: The wins span multiple geographies, including a 400 kV hydroelectric power evacuation project in Northern India, 380 kV transmission lines in Saudi Arabia, and tower/hardware supply in the Americas.
Strong Pipeline: These additions push the company’s year-to-date (YTD) order intake for FY27 to over ₹7,600 crore, contributing to a massive consolidated order book and L1 pipeline exceeding ₹40,000 crore (as of June 30, 2026).
Deleveraging: The company successfully reduced its consolidated net debt to ₹6,568 crore as of June 2026, down from ₹6,722 crore in March 2026.
Financial Context & Challenges:
The fresh order inflow comes against a backdrop of near-term margin pressures. Q1 FY27 consolidated net profit declined 42% YoY to ₹73 crore (from ₹125 crore in Q1 FY26), primarily due to geopolitical disruptions and labor shortages impacting execution in the Middle East.
Strategic Outlook:
While the ₹1,303 crore win significantly improves medium-term revenue visibility and validates strong global demand for high-voltage T&D infrastructure, the immediate focus for investors will be on execution speed. Normalizing supply chains and resolving labor availability in the Middle East will be critical for KEC to convert this massive ₹40,000+ crore pipeline into realized revenue and restore its historical profitability margins.
