NTPC Renewable Energy’s Green Ammonia Win and Solar Expansion

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has won a major green ammonia supply contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), securing 70,000 metric tonnes per annum at ₹51.80/kg through an e-reverse auction. The supply will serve Krishana Phoschem in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, as part of SECI’s 7.24 lakh MT green ammonia tender. In parallel, IRCON Renewable Power—jointly backed by Ayana Renewable Power (a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green)—has commissioned an additional 75 MW solar capacity in Rajasthan. This brings the total operational capacity of the 500 MW project to 300 MW, with commercial operation declared from August 6, 2025. The developments underscore NTPC Green’s growing role in India’s clean energy transition, with strategic wins in green hydrogen derivatives and steady progress in large-scale solar projects.
