Tejas Networks Secures ₹1,537 Crore LoI from TCS

Tejas Networks has received a massive Letter of Intent (LoI) worth ₹1,537 crore from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to supply 4G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment for BSNL, covering the deployment across 18,685 sites. Key Highlights: Order Book Doubling: This single LoI effectively doubles the company’s order visibility, adding to the existing backlog of ₹1,529 crore (as of June 30, 2026). Strategic Alignment: The win reinforces Tejas Networks' critical role within the Tata Group consortium, directly supporting India’s push for an indigenous telecom hardware stack. Financial & Operational Context (Q1 FY27): Top-Line Growth: Net revenue grew 21% QoQ to ₹402 crore, nearly doubling from ₹202 crore in the year-ago quarter, indicating accelerating delivery schedules. Profitability & Cash Flow Pressures: Despite revenue growth, the net loss widened slightly to ₹202 crore (from ₹194 crore YoY) due to high working capital intensity. Net debt climbed to ₹4,277 crore. Inventory Advantage: The company holds a high inventory of ₹2,358 crore, which will be mobilized to expedite BSNL project deliveries without requiring substantial immediate capital expenditure. Strategic Outlook: While this mega-order provides immense mid-term revenue visibility and validates Tejas’s technological capabilities, the immediate focus must shift to execution and cash flow management. Market observers will closely track how quickly this LoI converts into active billings to improve operational leverage, reduce working capital strain, and ultimately arrest the company's continuous quarterly net losses.
