Bank Nifty Breaks Key Support of 56,600 – Further Weakness Ahead

On 18th July 2025, the Bank Nifty index closed below an important support level of 56,600, indicating increasing weakness in the banking sector. At present, it is trading at 56,283, and this breakdown suggests that more downside may be expected in the near term. The next immediate support is around 56,200. If this level fails to hold, Bank Nifty could further slip towards the next key support at 55,500, which may act as a crucial level for any potential bounce or reversal. From a technical perspective, a bearish crossover has occurred between the 5-day and 20-day moving averages, which is generally seen as a sign of trend reversal or continuation of weakness. Additionally, the index is currently trading below the 20-day moving average, further confirming the short-term bearish sentiment. In summary, unless Bank Nifty reclaims and sustains above 56,600, the trend remains negative. Traders should remain cautious and watch how the index behaves near the 56,200 and 55,500 support levels. A break below these levels could invite more selling pressure, while a bounce might provide a short-term opportunity
