NMDC TO START THERMAL COAL PRODUCTION BY Q3FY27

State-owned

NMDC
will start the commercial production of thermal coal by Oct-Dec period and looks to sell around 1 million tons of the dry fuel within FY27. The company is India's largest iron ore mining player and it now eyes 20% revenue from non-iron ore minerals by the year 2030. It will also start developing a coking coal mine within FY27 to begin production as early as FY28. While thermal coal is used to generate power, coking coal is another important raw material used to manufacture steel. NMDC will keep on looking for opportunities for more and more minerals both in India and abroad. It has reported strong ROCE and ROE numbers of 27.6% and 23.4% respectively. Moreover, it has also been maintaining a healthy dividend payout of 41.3% thereby making it a good opportunity for regular income.
