Mahindra Finance Q2 disbursements jump 22% to Rs 16,490 cr

M&MFIN
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited shares were trading higher on October 5, 2026, after the company's Q2FY27 business update showed a 22% year-on-year jump in disbursements. The company reported disbursements of Rs 16,490 crore for the September quarter, taking the H1FY27 total to about Rs 32,050 crore, also up 22% over the same period last year. Total business assets, or AUM, grew 15% year on year to Rs 1,46,300 crore. Asset quality improved too, Stage-3 assets (the most stressed loan category) came down to around 3.35-3.45% from 3.94% a year earlier, while collection efficiency rose to 97% from 96%. The company also reported liquidity of over Rs 16,200 crore. Live intraday price moves on a day like this tend to vary by the minute and across data sources, so rather than quoting a specific percentage that could already be stale by the time this is read, the point worth noting is the stock has been firmly in the green through the session on the back of this update, trading within its 52-week range of roughly Rs 270 to Rs 415. A 22% rise in disbursements alongside improving asset quality is a stronger combination than growth alone, since NBFC stocks often get penalised when loan book growth comes with rising stress. Here, both numbers are moving in the right direction together, which is usually read as a healthier quarter than the headline disbursement number alone suggests. The thing to watch from here is whether this translates into profit growth when formal results are announced, since disbursement and AUM growth do not automatically mean higher margins if funding costs or provisioning move against the company.
