Cipla Key U.S. Biosimilar Deal Amid Stock Weakness
Cipla (
CIPLA
) has a subsidiary, Invagen Pharmaceuticals Inc., that has entered into a strategic partnership with Qilu Pharmaceutical Co. for the exclusive licensing and supply of QL2107, a biosimilar to Keytruda (pembrolizumab), in the United States.
Under the agreement, Qilu will handle product development, regulatory registration and supply, while Cipla USA Inc. will commercialise the product by leveraging its established U.S. commercial presence.
The partnership gives Cipla an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the U.S. oncology market while benefiting from Qilu’s development and manufacturing capabilities.
Meanwhile, Cipla shares remained under pressure on September 4, extending losses for the third consecutive session. The stock closed at around ₹1,385, down 0.7%, and traded at its lowest level since July 24, 2026.
Cipla has a market capitalisation of around ₹1.12 lakh crore. Its P/E stood at 33.29, compared with the sector P/E of 30.18, while the 52-week range is ₹1,166–₹1,673.
Investors will watch U.S. regulatory progress, commercialisation prospects and whether the recent stock weakness stabilises in the coming sessions.
