Hero MotoCorp Stock Falls Despite August Sales Growth
Shares of
HEROMOTOCO
Hero MotoCorp declined over 6% today, with the stock under pressure amid broader market concerns, including the sharp rise in crude oil prices. The August sales data also offered a mixed picture for India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
Hero MotoCorp reported total sales of 5.68 lakh units in August, up 2.65% year-on-year (YoY) from 5.53 lakh units a year earlier.
However, the underlying numbers remain uneven. Motorcycle sales declined 1.5% YoY to 4.93 lakh units, compared with 5.01 lakh units in August last year.
The export segment was a bigger drag, with exports falling 24.6% YoY to 26,093 units from 34,588 units.
