Shares of New India Assurance Company Ltd (

NIACL
) and IFCI Ltd (IFCI) surged in Wednesday’s trading session amid market buzz that the National Stock Exchange (NSE) could launch its much-awaited IPO by the end of this month. Unconfirmed reports of a possible IPO launch have triggered buying interest in companies that hold stakes, directly or indirectly, in NSE. IFCI shares jumped as much as 14% to hit a fresh all-time high of Rs 99.49 on the NSE. The stock has gained more than 85% so far in calendar year 2026, reflecting strong investor interest. IFCI, a public sector non-banking financial company (NBFC), holds a 52% stake in Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd (SHCIL), which, in turn, owns a 4.4% stake in NSE. Meanwhile, NIACL shares rallied as much as 8.41% intraday, crossing the Rs 200 mark for the first time in nearly two months. The NSE IPO, if launched, is expected to draw significant investor attention given the exchange’s dominant position in India’s capital markets.
