Reliance Industries Ltd strategic crude oil procurement shift and progress

RELIANCE
The company has ramped up its purchases of crude oil from West Asia, notably Iraq’s Basrah Medium and Qatar’s Al-Shaheen, amid Western pressure to reduce reliance on Russian oil. This shift follows President Donald Trump's recent comments about India agreeing to halt Russian oil buys—though Indian refiners have indicated only partial curbs. Additionally, Reliance is actively engaging with new suppliers to find crude of similar quality to traditional Russian imports, as upcoming EU sanctions on Russian-refined fuels may impact its exports to Europe.
