Apollo Hospitals Accelerates Growth with Strategic Stake Acquisition and Oncology Expansion
Chennai, September 12, 2025 – Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (BSE: 508869, NSE: APOLLOHOSP) announced key strategic moves to strengthen its healthcare leadership. The Board approved the acquisition of an additional 30.58% stake in Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited (AHLL) for ₹1,254 crore, increasing its shareholding to 99.42%. The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals from the Competition Commission of India, is expected to be completed by November 2025. AHLL, which reported ₹15,535 million in revenue for FY25, operates hospitals, diagnostic centres, and other healthcare facilities.
In addition, Apollo is set to invest ₹5,730 million to establish a 100-bed Comprehensive Oncology Centre in Gurugram, including a state-of-the-art Proteus One Single Gantry Proton Therapy System. This will be Apollo’s third proton therapy facility in India and aims to meet the rising cancer burden, with a projected annual treatment capacity of 850 patients.
Apollo’s expansion plans align with its long-term focus on personalized and advanced care, leveraging technologies like genomics, immunotherapy, and robotics. The company aims to double its oncology business to over ₹5,000 crore in 3-4 years.
