RVNL Emerges as Lowest Bidder for ₹87.56 Crore South Eastern Railway Project
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major project awarded by South Eastern Railway, reinforcing its strong execution pipeline in railway infrastructure and technology-led upgrades.
As per the regulatory disclosure, the project involves the supply, installation and commissioning of an IP-based Video Surveillance System (VSS) in LHB coaches, in line with the latest RDSO specifications. The scope includes installation of four cameras per coach, along with rugged handheld terminals or tablets and 8 TB external SSD storage, aimed at enhancing passenger safety and real-time monitoring across rolling stock.
The contract, awarded through an e-tender process, is valued at approximately ₹87.56 crore (excluding GST) and is classified under the normal course of business for the company. The execution timeline for the project is 10 months from the date of issue of the purchase order.
RVNL confirmed that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity, with no promoter or group company interest involved, and the transaction does not fall under related-party transactions.
This development adds further visibility to RVNL’s order book and underlines its growing role in technology-driven railway modernisation initiatives.
