Dr. Reddy’s: Gilead Partnership Expands Global

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has expanded its collaboration with Gilead Sciences through a royalty-free, non-exclusive voluntary licence for investigational once-yearly lenacapavir, an HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) treatment. The agreement strengthens Dr. Reddy’s presence in global public-health medicines and creates an opportunity to participate in the potential rollout of a next-generation long-acting HIV prevention therapy. The latest agreement builds on Dr. Reddy’s existing partnership with Gilead, which began in October 2024 for twice-yearly lenacapavir for HIV prevention and treatment. Under the new agreement,

will work on manufacturing readiness, technology transfer and future supply planning for once-yearly lenacapavir across licensed markets. The licence covers 120 high-incidence countries, primarily low- and lower-middle-income markets, where improving access to affordable HIV prevention remains a significant requirement. Gilead has entered into similar royalty-free licensing arrangements with multiple generic manufacturers to prepare for potential large-scale supply.
