Titagarh Rail Systems: 35-Year Vande Bharat Maintenance

Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. shares gained after the company signed a 35-year maintenance contract with

BHEL
for 80 Vande Bharat sleeper train sets, forming part of the ₹24,000 crore Indian Railways order. The TRSL-BHEL JV will execute the maintenance contract on a 50:50 basis. The company’s order book stands at ₹26,635 crore, providing strong revenue visibility. Financially, revenue grew 12.7% YoY, while net profit increased 71% YoY, highlighting continued earnings momentum. The key takeaway is the 35-year maintenance opportunity. Railway rolling stock contracts are increasingly moving beyond manufacturing towards long-term maintenance and lifecycle services. Such contracts can potentially provide recurring revenue over an extended period, improving business visibility. The Vande Bharat sleeper programme is also strategically important as Indian Railways continues to expand its modern passenger train fleet. Participation in both manufacturing and maintenance can give Titagarh exposure across the train lifecycle.
