Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) continues

GRSE
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) continues to have a strong fundamental outlook, supported by defence spending, shipbuilding demand and its newly acquired Navratna status. In Q1 FY27, revenue from operations rose 38.5% YoY to ₹1,814.6 crore, while PAT increased 43.8% to ₹172.8 crore, showing strong execution and profitability growth. A major positive trigger is GRSE's ₹2,670 crore expansion plan for shipbuilding and ship-repair facilities in West Bengal, including more than ₹2,500 crore investment at Raichak. This should increase capacity and allow the company to pursue larger defence as well as commercial shipbuilding opportunities. The Navratna status received in June 2026 is another important structural positive because it gives GRSE greater autonomy for investments, joint ventures and expansion. The company has also been diversifying beyond traditional defence vessels into commercial ships, green vessels and exports. GRSE is building 12 multi-purpose vessels for a German customer and has emerged L1 for a 15-tonne electric tug, strengthening its green-shipbuilding credentials.
