Ashok Leyland Approves ₹825 Crore Investments in Optare Plc and HHFL

$ASHOKLEY Ashok Leyland Limited's Board has approved investments of up to GBP 25 million (about ₹325 crore) in its UK subsidiary Optare Plc, which manufactures buses and commercial vehicles, and up to ₹500 crore in Hinduja Housing Finance Limited (HHFL), a leading affordable housing finance company in India and a step-down subsidiary, through secondary share purchase from Hinduja Leyland Finance Limited. Both transactions are related party deals, based on independent valuations, and aim to support business growth and operational needs. The investments will be made in cash by March 31, 2027, increasing Ashok Leyland's shareholding in Optare Plc to 93.49% and giving it a direct 8.90% stake in HHFL, with the remainder held indirectly.
