π SKF India: A Sharp Correction, But Is the Story Changing?
A sharp fall in price does not automatically mean value; investors should examine earnings quality, business changes, valuation, and future growth.
SKF India has become an interesting post-demerger case study.
The company has separated its Industrial and Automotive businesses, giving each business a more focused strategy. SKF India now primarily represents the Automotive business, while the Industrial business operates separately as SKF India (Industrial).
The key question is not simply:
βWhy has the stock fallen so much?β
The better question is:
βCan future earnings justify the valuation after the business restructuring?β
The company continues to participate in India's evolving mobility ecosystem, including EVs, two-wheelers and wheel-end bearing opportunities.
However, investors should be careful with headline comparisons because post-demerger financial statements can make YoY numbers difficult to interpret. Recent reported revenue was around βΉ587.8 crore, while PBT was βΉ83.9 crore, highlighting the importance of analysing the underlying business rather than looking only at price movements.
