Bharti Airtel offers free international roaming

Bharti Airtel has launched new postpaid plans, with even more benefits built in. From October 8, 2026, customers can enjoy one international trip with free roaming every year with these new postpaid plans, along with all existing benefits. The complimentary International Roaming pack offers 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS, and free incoming SMS, all valid for 5 days. Customers have complete flexibility to activate the 5-day pack at the exact time of their choice, making it easier to stay connected while travelling abroad. For customers on Airtel Postpaid family plans, the free International Roaming option is available for each and every family member who is part of the plan. Impact : Postpaid subscribers generate 8% to 12% of Airtel’s total wireless revenue. According to estimates by Centrum India analysts, this immediate ₹50 tariff hike will lift the company’s consolidated wireless ARPU by approximately 1% quarter-on-quarter. Analysts view this as a sophisticated premiumization defense that simultaneously cushions the company's financials and strengthens consumer retention.
