Tata Motors registers 42% jump in total sales in September
Tata Motors has reported total commercial vehicle sales of 51,062 units across domestic and international markets in September 2026, registering a 42.4% year-on-year growth compared to 35,862 units sold in September 2025.
The company's domestic commercial vehicle sales increased by 31.2% to 43,487 units in September 2026 from 33,148 units in the corresponding month last year. Within the domestic segment, HCV Trucks sales rose 43.6% to 14,171 units in September 2026, while ILMCV Trucks sales grew 31.7% to 7,990 units in September 2026. Passenger Carriers has recorded a growth of 55.3% with sales of 4,816 units, and SCV Cargo and Pickup sales has increased 17.0% to 16,510 units in September 2026.
Impact : Driven by a strong September finish, Tata Motors PV achieved its highest-ever quarterly sales of 201,723 units, marking a 40% year-on-year increase. This record momentum was propelled by green technology, with electric vehicles (EVs) and CNG models making up 51% of the quarterly sales mix.
View : In the short run , the record-breaking sales numbers will trigger strong positive momentum for the stocks, likely driving a near-term price rally. However, institutional analysts remain highly cautious about structural headwinds over the next few quarters.
