Outlook:
- Strong yearly demand kept the building material sector on track, but quarterly profits slid 42.5% from Q1 FY27 Rs. 2,599 crore as heavy monsoons and high input costs weighed on earnings.
- Reaching 35.94 million tonnes after a 13.8% year-over-year increase, the volume easily outpaced the wider industry's projected 10% growth rate.
- The company boosted its domestic grey cement capacity to 204.7 mtpa by commissioning a new 3.6 mtpa greenfield integrated plant in Petnikota, Andhra Pradesh. Backed by a rise in captive utilization from 66% to 71%, this move keeps the company on track to hit its goal of 240+ mtpa by March 2028.
