DELTACORP
Sometimes the biggest opportunity isn't hiding in growth.
It's hiding in uncertainty.
Delta Corp is India's only listed gaming and hospitality company, with offshore and land-based casinos, hotels and related entertainment assets. It currently holds 3 of Goa's 6 offshore gaming licences.
But the business has been hit by one massive issue:
GST + regulation.
The 28% GST framework on casino chip purchases has materially changed the economics of the industry.
And the latest quarter shows the impact.
Q1 FY27 consolidated revenue fell around 9% YoY to ₹178 crore. The company reported a ₹212 crore net loss, largely because of an exceptional loss of about ₹307 crore. Excluding exceptional items, PBT remained positive at roughly ₹28 crore.
So the headline loss doesn't tell the entire story.
The core operating business is still generating profits.
And hospitality is showing momentum.
Hospitality revenue jumped nearly 38% YoY to ₹16.6 crore in Q1 FY27, while casino revenue was ₹151.9 crore.
Now comes the real optionality.
Delta and its subsidiaries are challenging GST demands based on the industry's dispute over whether tax should apply to gross bet value/face value rather than actual gaming revenue/rake.
The company has obtained stays on relevant proceedings, and the broader industry matter has reached the Supreme Court.
If the regulatory framework becomes more favourable, the earnings equation could change dramatically.
Lower tax burden → Better gaming economics → Higher profitability → Stronger cash generation → Potential re-rating
Then add the assets.
Goa casinos.
Land-based gaming.
Hotels.
Daman hospitality.
A recognised Deltin brand.
And an established position in India's organised gaming industry.
That's why Delta is interesting.
Not because the current quarter is strong.
It isn't.
GST outcome.
Regulatory changes.
Casino demand.
High taxation.
Legal uncertainty.
Gaming restrictions.#Today’sTradingSetup
