HDFC Life Q2 profit up 3% YoY; net premium income rises 13.5% to ₹18,871 crore

HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. reported a 3% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q2 FY26, supported by steady growth in new business and improving persistency ratios. Net premium income (NPI) climbed 13.5% to ₹18,871 crore, compared to ₹16,614 crore in the same period last year, driven by strong traction in both retail and group segments. The company continues to maintain a healthy solvency ratio of around 2.05x, well above the regulatory requirement, highlighting its strong financial position. Growth in protection and annuity products also contributed to the overall performance. On the market front, HDFC Life shares were trading around ₹670, up 0.8%, with a market capitalization exceeding ₹1.4 lakh crore. The insurer retains robust fundamentals, with consistent margins, a diversified product mix, and strong bancassurance partnerships that support long-term premium growth. With steady profitability, improving product penetration, and a focus on sustainable value creation, HDFC Life continues to strengthen its position as a leading player in India’s life insurance sector.
