Samvardhana Motherson Rises 2% Despite Weak Q1 Earnings; Announces Bonus Issue & Acquisitions
Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International gained 2.08% to ₹94.03 in Friday’s trade, making it one of the active stocks on the Nifty Next 50 index. For Q1 FY26 (June 2025 quarter), the company reported revenue of ₹30,212 crore, up from ₹29,317 crore in the previous quarter. However, net profit declined sharply to ₹482 crore from ₹983 crore in March 2025, with EPS dropping to ₹0.48 from ₹1.49. On an annual basis, revenue for FY25 stood at ₹1,13,663 crore, higher than ₹98,692 crore in FY24, while net profit rose to ₹3,618 crore versus ₹2,782 crore a year earlier. EPS improved to ₹5.50 from ₹4.01. The board approved key corporate actions, including a 1:2 bonus issue (ex-date July 18, 2025), acquisition of 81% stake in Yutaka Giken Co., Ltd, and an additional 20% stake in Youngshin Motherson Auto Tech Limited. The company also announced a final dividend of ₹0.35 per share, effective June 23, 2025.
