Tata Power Plans ₹2,000 Crore Bond Issue to Refinance Debt, Fund Clean Energy Push
Tata Power Company Limited is set to raise ₹2,000 crore through a bond issue scheduled for December 18, according to a report by The Economic Times. The funds will be utilised to refinance existing debt, invest in clean energy projects, and meet general corporate requirements. As part of its first bond issuance in over two years, Tata Power will issue two tranches of non-convertible debentures (NCDs)—₹1,000 crore each—with tenures of three years and five years. The bonds are expected to be issued on December 19. Yes Bank Limited and ICICI Bank Limited have been appointed as arrangers for the issue and are likely to subscribe to around ₹300 crore each, with the remaining portion open to other investors. Shares of Tata Power were trading over 1 percent lower in early trade following the report, even as investors track the company’s capital allocation strategy and clean energy expansion plans.
