Fermenta Biotech Jumps 14% on FSSAI Approval for Plant-Based Vitamin D3
Fermenta Biotech shares surged 14.21% to ₹395 after receiving FSSAI approval for VITADEE Green India's first plant based Vitamin D3 ingredient for use in health supplements, nutraceuticals and fortified foods.
Conventional Vitamin D3 is sourced from sheep's wool making it non vegetarian. VITADEE Green is 100% plant based giving India's massive vegetarian population an animal free Vitamin D3 option for the first time. With urban lifestyles causing widespread Vitamin D deficiency this is a large and underserved market.
Without FSSAI approval Fermenta could not sell VITADEE Green in India despite having the product ready. This single regulatory approval instantly opens the entire Indian domestic market food companies, supplement makers and beverage brands can now use it. Regulatory approval for a first-mover product in a large market = instant re rating.
Fermenta's 14% jump on FSSAI approval taught me that regulatory clearances can instantly unlock large domestic markets for small cap companies with innovative products, making it essential to track regulatory approval timelines alongside product innovation for specialty ingredient stocks like FERMENTA ,
