Electric two-wheeler major Ather Energy on Friday said it will push for more exports by looking at countries in Asia and Latin America, for meaningful contribution to its revenues over the next five to seven years. Having said that, the company also added that it will prioritise the domestic market amid the current demand-supply situation, as the current plant in Tamil Nadu (Hosur) is not sufficient to meet the demand. The company has started exporting to Nepal and Sri Lanka recently. Speaking to businessline on the sidelines of a launch here, Ravneet S Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said that Ather will add another 10 lakh units per annum at its upcoming facility in Maharashtra, which will be in two phases. “So, our next pump up will come from our new facility, which is coming up in Maharashtra. That plant has a total capacity of 10-lakh more units, which is split in two phases — 5-lakh in the first phase and another in 5-lakh in the second phase. The first phase goes live around December this year, but typically it will take about four to six months for it to get to its full capacity,” he told businessline. He said the company has a production capacity of around 30,000-35,000 units a month right now from the current plant, and from December, it is expecting to do around 42,000 units a month from both the facilities. Meanwhile, the company launched its new electric scooter, Konarc, for the Delhi-NCR market, priced at ₹79,999. Phokela said Delhi-NCR continues to be an important market for Ather, with EV adoption increasing from 6.27 per cent in Q1 FY26 to 9.23 per cent in Q1 FY27, recording 38 per cent y-o-y growth.
