1) Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a steady set of operational numbers in its business update for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, with a healthy uptick in both advances and deposits on a year-on-year basis, indicating sustained traction across retail and corporate banking segments.
2) Net advances at the end of Q1 FY26 stood at ₹4.45 lakh crore, marking a 14% increase over ₹3.90 lakh crore in the same quarter last year. Sequentially too, lending activity was up 4.2% compared to ₹4.27 lakh crore in the March 2025 quarter.
3) On the liabilities side, the bank's end-of-period (EOP) total deposits rose to ₹5.13 lakh crore, up 14.6% from ₹4.47 lakh crore in Q1 FY25 and 2.8% higher than ₹4.99 lakh crore in Q4 FY25.
4) Average total deposits came in at ₹4.92 lakh crore, up 12.9% on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter, reflecting broad-based deposit mobilisation.
5) The bank’s low-cost deposit base saw more tempered growth. Average current and savings account (CASA) deposits rose 4.2% YoY to ₹1.92 lakh crore and were up 2.1% sequentially.
6) Overall numbers are good. Stock is expected to react positively
