NYKAA
Nykaa, India’s leader in beauty and fashion e-commerce, plans to double its physical presence to 500 stores by FY30, reaching over 100 cities. This is a major leap from its FY25 count of 237 outlets across 79 cities. Management highlights that this move, along with boosting its omnichannel approach and strengthening in-house brands, is key to its long-term growth plans.
The company continues to dominate in premium beauty and is driving innovation through technology and expanding its lineup of owned brands such as Dot & Key, Nykaa Cosmetics, and Kay Beauty. These brands saw robust growth in FY25, together earning Rs1,695 crore in GMV, up 55% year-on-year, and now reach over 38,000 offline points of sale along with Nykaa’s app and website. To support this growth, Nykaa spent Rs128 crore in capex in FY25, mainly for expanding stores, tech, and automation. With its peak investment phase behind, Nykaa expects better returns, as seen in its improved return on capital employed—up to 11.3% in FY25 from 7.5% in FY24.
The company’s fashion arm is set to expand further in FY26 by increasing offerings in men’s, kids’, and home categories, moving beyond its traditional strength in women’s fashion and aiming to attract wider consumer segments. Rapid delivery options like ‘Nykaa Now’—two-hour shipping in seven big cities—are also being scaled up, emphasizing convenience and customer satisfaction through AI-driven personalization.
CEO Falguni Nayar underlines that India’s Gen Z and rising aspirational consumers are driving changes. Nykaa is leveraging technology, focusing on customer relationships, and adapting quickly to the evolving market.
For shareholders, Nykaa’s aggressive expansion and investment in premium brands, technology, and customer experience could yield long-term value. However, executing at this scale comes with risks—cost control, competition, and ensuring consistent profitability will be crucial for benefiting shareholders in the years to come.#StockInNews#FundamentalViews#WatchOutFor#EquityResearch
