Granules India currently has a strong earnings

GRANULES
1. Shift toward complex products: Granules is moving beyond traditional high-volume generics toward complex generics, oncology, peptides and differentiated products. Its R&D spending was ₹5.3% of revenue in FY26, and it has a pipeline of complex-generic filings. 2. US opportunity: The company recently secured sole First-to-File status for Sodium Oxybate extended-release oral suspension, which could provide an attractive future US opportunity if regulatory and commercial milestones are achieved. 3. Manufacturing expansion: Its Hyderabad GLS facility received USFDA approval, increasing finished-dose manufacturing capacity and providing manufacturing redundancy. 4. Strong earnings operating leverage: PAT growing 60% against 22% revenue growth is particularly positive because it indicates significant improvement in profitability. 🔴 Biggest risk — USFDA This is the most important risk to monitor. Granules' Gagillapur facility had been under a USFDA warning letter following an inspection that raised cGMP, contamination-control and data-integrity concerns. Management said it had completed remediation and was awaiting FDA response. Any delay in resolving this issue could affect US launches, production and investor sentiment. ⚠️ Promoter selling A major development today is that promoter Krishna Prasad Chigurupati sold about 1.72 crore shares worth ₹1,500 crore, reducing his holding to 31.08%. The stated purpose was to fund the second tranche of a preferential issue. Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas were among the investors taking shares. So, while the transaction provides funding for the company's strategic plans, the large promoter stake sale can create short-term supply/overhang in the stock.
