$VBL (VBL) Navigates Mixed Q2 Earnings Amid Domestic Slowdown
$VBL (VBL) shares rebounded by 4% following a sharp 7% drop triggered by lukewarm June-quarter (Q2CY26) financial results. Domestic Slowdown vs. International Surge: India volume growth came in at a lower-than-expected 14.4% due to adverse weather conditions in April and rising local competition, though strong international demand (+38.4%) helped cushion total consolidated volume growth at 19.8%. Financial Performance: Consolidated revenue grew by 20% to ₹8,451 crore for the quarter, but earnings estimates were revised downward following the softer domestic baseline. Margin Contraction: EBITDA margins compressed by 76 basis points to 27.7%, weighed down by the integration of the lower-margin Twizza business in international markets, higher administrative and employee expenses, and elevated depreciation costs from new plant developments. Diversification and Outlook: Management remains confident in achieving double-digit domestic volume growth for the full year, relying on portfolio expansion into dairy, juices, hydration, and lower-sugar offerings, which currently make up 73% of consolidated volumes.
