Nestlé India Q1 Profit Surges 48% on Strong Demand Across Product Categories

Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628 $NESTLEIND reported a 48% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹975 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with ₹660 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations grew 25% year-on-year to ₹6,378 crore, driven by robust consumer demand and broad-based growth across its product portfolio. The company witnessed strong double-digit growth across all four major product groups, including prepared dishes and cooking aids, powdered and liquid beverages, confectionery, and milk products & nutrition. The strong performance was supported by healthy volume growth, premiumisation, product innovation, and improved distribution. Flagship brands such as Maggi, Nescafé, and KitKat continued to perform well, while the company benefited from increasing demand in both urban and rural markets. Despite a challenging input cost environment, Nestlé delivered strong revenue growth and improved profitability through efficient operations and sustained consumer demand. Industry & Economic Impact: Nestlé India's results indicate resilient demand in the FMCG sector, particularly for branded food and beverage products. Strong sales growth across categories reflects improving consumer spending, premiumisation trends, and continued expansion of organized retail and distribution networks, even as companies navigate higher raw material costs. From an economic perspective, sustained growth in the FMCG sector supports manufacturing, agriculture, packaging, logistics, and retail industries while generating employment across the value chain. Healthy consumer demand also signals resilient domestic consumption, a key driver of India's economic growth. Source: NDTV Profit No Recommendations
