Graphite India raises stake in GrafTech International to 9.79% with Rs 62 crore investment
India’s leading graphite electrode maker Graphite India has increased its strategic investment in GrafTech International by acquiring an additional 2.97% stake through secondary market transactions for Rs 62.25 crore. Following the acquisition, Graphite India’s holding in GrafTech has risen from 6.82% to 9.79%, taking its total investment in the NYSE-listed company to nearly Rs 230.38 crore. GrafTech is a global manufacturer of premium graphite electrode products used in electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking and other ferrous and non-ferrous metal production processes. The move highlights Graphite India’s continued strategic interest in the global graphite electrode industry and strengthens its exposure to international steel and industrial demand trends.
