Aster DM Quality Care faces 795 hurdle after Q2 jump

Aster DM Quality Care rose up to 8.25% in the Muhurat session after Q2 results, with resistance at 794.83 and support at 638.75. Aster DM Quality Care Limited [ ASTERDM ] rose up to 8.25% to Rs 771.95 in the Diwali Muhurat session on 8 November 2026 and was last at Rs 749.35, up 5.08%. Q2 FY27 consolidated net profit was Rs 262 crore against Rs 110 crore normalised profit a year ago, up 138.2%. Revenue was Rs 2,829.2 crore against Rs 1,197.2 crore, up 136.3%. This is the first full quarter after the Quality Care India merger, so the base is not like-for-like. The company reports revenue up 19% and normalised profit after tax up 34% to Rs 281 crore. On the daily chart, the stock fell from the 891.30 high to 638.75, then broke the falling trendline in early November. Today’s high stalled just above the 50% retracement at 765.03 and the close slipped under it, leaving an upper wick. The 38.2% level at 735.22 is first support. The 61.8% level at 794.83, near 800, is the key hurdle, and a close above it brings 891.30 back in view. A close below 735.22 would weaken the rebound, with 638.75 the base support. Stance: constructive above 735.22, with 800 to clear. Disclosure: I do not hold any position in this stock. This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Q2 FY27 Growth: Revenue at INR 2,829 Cr, 19% YoY growth

ASTERDM Top-line and profit growth: 19% revenue and 25% operating EBITDA growth show demand recovery and operating leverage in the quarter. Margin expansion (111 bps) driven by mature-unit mix and favourable payor mix—indicates improving unit economics, not just volume lift. Occupancy and volumes: patient volumes +12% and occupancy +335 bps to 68% improve fixed-cost absorption and revenue per bed. Cash flow improving: cash from operating activity rose to INR 656 Cr (last period INR 425 Cr, +54%), supporting organic capex and debt servicing. Leverage manageable: gross debt ~INR 3,959 Cr with net debt/EBITDA (pre IND AS) ~0.87 as of Sep 30, 2026—gives room to fund expansion without immediate refinancing pressure.

Aster DM Quality Care Q2 Profit More Than Doubles

ASTERDM reported a strong Q2 FY27 performance, with its profit attributable to shareholders rising to ₹262 crore. The company’s consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹2,829 crore, while total consolidated profit reached ₹322.4 crore for the quarter ended September 2026. The company reported consolidated EBITDA of ₹664 crore, up 165.6% year-on-year, while EBITDA margin improved to 23.5% from 20.9%, reflecting stronger operating profitability. The headline growth was supported by the amalgamation of Quality Care India Limited, which became effective from July 1, 2026. The merger has significantly expanded the group’s hospital network and operating scale. However, the reported year-on-year financial figures are not directly comparable with the previous year, as the acquired Quality Care India business was consolidated only from the current quarter. This distinction is important when assessing the sustainability of growth. Aster’s enlarged healthcare platform offers opportunities through hospital expansion, operational synergies, improved patient volumes and a broader geographical presence. Investors should continue to monitor integration progress, margins, occupancy levels, cash generation and capital expenditure as the merged business moves forward. While the headline profit increase is notable, the underlying performance of the legacy Aster business and the acquired Quality Care network will be important in evaluating future earnings momentum. Learning Takeaway: When a company reports a sharp increase in revenue and profit following a merger, investors should separate inorganic growth from organic performance. Comparability of financial statements, integration synergies, margin trends and cash flows are essential to understand the true quality of earnings. Aster DM Quality Care rises 3.35% near 50% retracement

Aster DM Quality Care rose 3.35 percent on 9 October 2026 and closed at Rs 699.85, with the 61.8 percent retracement near Rs 661 as key support. Aster DM Quality Care Limited [ ASTERDM ] rose 3.35 percent on Friday, 9 October 2026, and closed at Rs 699.85. The bounce came after a fall of about 24 percent from the Rs 891.3 high of 10 August to a low of Rs 675.9. The rally ran from Rs 519.1 on 4 February to Rs 891.3 on 10 August 2026. Price now sits just below the 50 percent retracement at Rs 705.2. The 61.8 percent level at Rs 661.3 is the next support zone, and the stock has not tested it yet. Very heavy volume in mid August matched a reported block deal by a TPG affiliate. Since the peak, the stock has made lower highs. Friday’s volume was light and daily RSI is near 38, so the bounce needs follow-through. What next: Rs 780 is the resistance, and a close above it may ease the weak trend. Rs 661 is the support, and a close below it may bring more selling. Conclusion: the trend stays weak while below Rs 780, with the Rs 661 area as the level to watch. Aster DM Quality Care: Can merger synergies lift returns?

ASTERDM Aster DM Quality Care Limited (ASTERDM) began operations as a merged entity on July 1, 2026, combining Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India. The platform now operates 39 hospitals across 28 cities with over 10,600 beds. What happened? The merger creates a larger hospital network combining Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH and Evercare. On a combined proforma basis, Q1 FY27 revenue grew 20% YoY to ₹2,597 crore and operating EBITDA rose 30% to ₹576 crore. EBITDA margin improved 170 bps to 22.2%. Why it matters: The key opportunity is operating leverage. A larger network can improve procurement, referrals and utilisation while spreading central costs across more hospitals. My view: The early numbers are encouraging, but the merger thesis will be tested by actual synergy gains. I would focus less on headline revenue growth and more on whether margins and ROCE continue improving as the combined network is integrated. What I’m watching: Bed additions, occupancy, EBITDA margin, ROCE and synergy realisation over the next 4–6 quarters. Stance: Positive on the operating opportunity, but execution and capital efficiency remain the key triggers. Disclosure: I am a SEBI Registered Research Analyst.
