Signs Technical Assistance Agreement with Japan’s JFE Steel

Code BSE: 532508 NSE:

JSL
The agreement comes at a time when global demand for stainless steel is accelerating, driven by increasing adoption across automotive, infrastructure, railways, process industries, and other valueadded applications owing to its corrosion resistance, durability, and lower lifecycle costs. Industry estimates indicate that the global stainless steel market, particularly the ferritic stainless steel segment, is expected to witness steady growth over the coming decade, supported by rising demand for costefficient and sustainable material solutions. Ferritic stainless steel grades are widely used in automotive components, railway coaches, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery, construction, and several other value-added applications, making them an important growth segment for the future. Under the Technical Assistance Agreement, JFE Steel will support Jindal Stainless’ ongoing efforts to strengthen product quality and manufacturing practices for the grades specified in the Agreement.

Indonesia Squeezes Nickel. One Stock Has an Unusual Edge.

Indonesia just tightened its grip on nickel. Nickel ore quotas were cut sharply, royalties increased, and tighter regulations are putting pressure on the global supply chain. Nickel prices subsequently moved above $17,900/tonne, showing how quickly a policy decision in one country can travel through global commodity markets. But here is the interesting part for Indian investors: Jindal Stainless (JSL)

JSL
JSL is not a pure nickel producer. Its advantage comes from something more practical — backward integration. The company owns a 49% stake in an Indonesian Nickel Pig Iron (NPI) facility, designed to provide a more reliable source of nickel for its stainless-steel operations. The facility has nameplate capacity of up to 200,000 tonnes of NPI with around 14% nickel content. So the learning is bigger than simply “nickel prices are rising.” When a critical raw material becomes scarce, companies dependent entirely on external supply can face cost pressure. Companies that have secured part of their supply chain can potentially gain greater raw-material security and cost resilience. That is the real story to study: Indonesia tightens supply → nickel becomes strategically important → stainless-steel producers face input uncertainty → backward integration becomes more valuable. JSL itself says its Indonesian NPI stake is intended to strengthen nickel access and supply-chain resilience. Commodity shocks can create winners not only through higher prices, but through companies controlling critical inputs within their supply chain.

“Why Market Volatility Changes Trading Decisions”

Market volatility continuously changes the way price moves. During low-volatility periods, price may remain within a narrow range and repeatedly test the same levels. During high-volatility periods, price can move much faster and create larger swings within a short period. These different conditions can affect trade selection, position sizing and execution. A setup that works effectively during a directional market may behave differently when the market becomes range-bound. Similarly, a strategy designed around smaller price movements may require different risk considerations when volatility expands. Traders should therefore evaluate the current environment before applying a setup. Observing candle ranges, price structure, participation and the behavior around important levels can help provide additional context. Volatility itself is neither automatically good nor bad. It simply changes the amount and speed of movement available in the market. Learning: The same trading strategy may require different risk considerations when market conditions change.
