LT Foods Surge 15% to Record High as Basmati Stocks Rally

LT Foods shares jumped 14.76% to a record high of ₹490.70 on August 24, while KRBL and AWL Agri Business gained amid a rally in rice stocks.

LTFOODS
shares witnessed a sharp rally on August 24, surging as much as 14.76% intraday on the NSE to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹490.70. The stock surpassed its previous high of ₹480, recorded on September 19, 2025. Trading activity was also unusually strong, with average volume at the counter jumping more than 10-fold. KRBL gained 7.58% intraday, while AWL Agri Business advanced 3.06%, even as the broader market remained relatively subdued. Soft Commodity Rally Lifts Rice and Dairy Stocks

Shares of rice and dairy companies surged on August 24, extending the recent rally in soft commodity stocks after earlier gains in the sugar sector. Rice processors and exporters led the charge, with LT Foods climbing as much as 13-14% to hit a 52-week high near ₹489, while KRBL and Chaman Lal Setia rose around 8-9%. Trading volumes in

LTFOODS
ds soared to extraordinary levels, several times the recent average. The move was driven by firming rice prices in physical markets. Higher demand combined with a relatively constrained crop size pushed mandi prices higher, lifting sentiment for processors and exporters. KRBL management noted that prices could stay firm for the rest of the year, though profitability will also depend on export revival and paddy costs. The company expects a normal basmati crop this season with sowing levels broadly in line with previous years. Dairy stocks participated more moderately. Recently listed Milky Mist Dairy Food gained about 3.5%, while Parag Milk Foods and Hatsun Agro rose up to 6%. These companies focus largely on value-added products such as cheese, paneer, curd and ice cream rather than liquid milk.

Key Business Strengths: LT Foods has a strong presence in the basmati rice segment, with well-known brands such as Daawat and Royal. The company has a diversified geographical presence, including India, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Post Market Analysis | 30 July, 2026

Today's market was mixed. Nifty and Sensex managed to close in the green, while Bank Nifty stayed weak for most of the day before recovering and ending almost flat. The broader market wasn't as strong. Midcap and Smallcap indices closed lower, and declining stocks were much higher than advancing stocks. This means buying was mainly seen in a few large-cap stocks. Sector Performance 🟢 Auto was the best-performing sector. 🔴 Realty, Chemicals and Capital Market stocks saw the most selling. There was plenty of stock-specific action after earnings. Balkrishna Industries jumped nearly 11% after strong results. Redington, Sona BLW, LT Foods and Exide Industries also ended with good gains. On the other hand, PCBL Chemical, KPIT Technologies and Hexaware Technologies came under pressure after their quarterly results. One thing I'll be watching is Brent crude, which has moved back above $91 after falling earlier this week. The rupee also remained weak around 95.7 against the US dollar. Tomorrow's focus: • US GDP data • Core PCE Inflation • More Q1 earnings These events could keep both the overall market and individual stocks active. Nifty is still holding up well, but the broader market needs to improve. If more mid and small-cap stocks start participating, the rally will look much healthier. That's something I'll be watching over the next few sessions.
