Star Health retests its breakout zone near ₹535!!

Star Health retests its breakout zone near ₹535 Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (NSE: STARHEALTH) is trading near ₹544.60 after retracing toward the ₹535-₹545 breakout zone. The stock had earlier broken above ₹535 in July 2026 on strong volume and rallied toward ₹625. The current pullback has brought price back toward the previous breakout area. The weekly structure continues to show higher tops and higher bottoms from the April 2025 low near ₹340. The rising 20-week EMA is also supporting the current zone, while weekly RSI has cooled toward the 50-55 range and is turning upward. The ₹535-₹545 area is important because it represents the previous breakout zone. Corrective volumes have remained subdued, which indicates that the recent decline has not been accompanied by aggressive selling. My view is that the reaction around ₹535-₹545 will be important for the next move. Holding this zone would preserve the existing weekly structure, while a decisive breakdown would weaken the setup.

STAR Health: Growth Opportunities Amid Rising Competition

KFINTECH
STAR Health Insurance remains one of India’s leading standalone health insurance companies, operating in a market supported by rising healthcare costs, increasing awareness and low insurance penetration. The company’s established brand, extensive distribution network and health-focused product portfolio provide a strong base for growth. However, intense competition, medical inflation and elevated claim costs remain key challenges. Future performance will depend on premium growth, claims management, operating efficiency and profitability improvement. As India’s health insurance market continues to expand, STAR Health’s ability to balance growth with sustainable underwriting performance will remain an important factor for investors and the industry. Insurance Sector Gets a Boost as SBI Life Reports Strong Premium Growth

The Insurance & Financial Services sector remained in focus after SBI Life Insurance reported a strong start to FY27, with New Business Premium (NBP) rising 23% year-on-year to ₹8,908 crore. The company also recorded a 40% YoY growth in its regular premium business, reflecting healthy customer demand and a growing base of long-term policyholders. The sharp increase in regular premiums is particularly encouraging because it provides greater visibility into future earnings and improves the quality of the insurer's business mix. Strong premium growth also indicates continued customer acquisition and sustained demand for life insurance products despite a competitive market environment. The results have strengthened sentiment across the listed life insurance space, with investors viewing the performance as a positive indicator for the industry's growth outlook. Market participants will now closely monitor policy sales, persistency ratios, margin trends, and product mix to assess whether this momentum continues through the financial year. While premium growth is an important metric, long-term performance in the insurance sector will also depend on profitability, claim experience, investment income, and the ability to consistently expand market share. Learning Outcome: For insurance companies, premium growth is only one part of the story. Investors should also evaluate the quality of business through metrics such as regular premium growth, persistency, margins, and embedded value, as these factors provide a better picture of long-term financial health and earnings potential.

Morning Market Insights | 29 July 2026

Market Outlook Nifty is expected to open on a positive note, supported by firm Asian cues and a rebound in GIFT Nifty ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve policy decision. While global semiconductor stocks remain under pressure, the weakness is likely to keep investor interest intact in Indian IT companies after recent earnings resilience. FIIs were net buyers in the previous session, which may also lend support to market sentiment. Technically, 23,800–23,850 remains the immediate support zone. As long as the index holds above this range, the broader undertone remains positive. On the upside, 24,100–24,150 is the immediate resistance zone, and a decisive move above this level could trigger fresh buying momentum towards higher levels. Bank Nifty Outlook Bank Nifty is expected to witness a flat to mildly positive opening after yesterday's range-bound consolidation and profit booking from higher levels. The index continues to trade within a consolidation band, indicating a wait-and-watch approach ahead of key global events. Immediate support is placed at 56,100–56,150, while 57,100–57,300 remains the first resistance zone. A sustained move above 57,300 may open the doors for a rally towards 57,800, whereas a break below 56,100 could invite fresh selling pressure. Stocks in News Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Asian Paints, Eicher Motors, Dabur India, Waaree Energies, Hexaware Technologies, Balkrishna Industries, Star Health and Bajaj Housing Finance will announce Q1 FY27 results today, making them key stocks to watch. Larsen & Toubro (L&T): In focus after reporting strong Q1 earnings while maintaining its FY27 revenue and margin guidance. Indian IT Stocks: Likely to remain strong as investors rotate into the sector despite continued weakness in global semiconductor stocks. Sugar Stocks: May see action after the government's new stockholding regulations for the sector.
