Hospitality Sector - Indian Hotels Company

INDHOTEL
Hospitality companies are influenced by occupancy rates, Average Room Rate, RevPAR, tourism, business travel, room additions and consumer spending. Indian Hotels Company, the operator behind brands including Taj and Ginger, has recently continued expanding its hotel network. In September 2026, IHCL announced a Gateway hotel in Sambalpur, Odisha, while earlier September updates included expansion of Ginger in Nava Raipur. IHCL's latest corporate information reports consolidated revenue of ₹2,339 crore, consolidated EBITDA of ₹753 crore and consolidated PAT of ₹358 crore for the quarter ended June 2026. The learning takeaway is that hotel-stock analysis should combine occupancy, room rates, new-room additions and travel demand.

Indian Hotels - Record quarter, Price inside the cloud

INDHOTEL
trades at Rs 718, and the Ichimoku picture is unusually neutral. Price sits inside the cloud, which spans Rs 695 to Rs 730, rather than above or below it. The Tenkan at Rs 720 and the Kijun at Rs 729 are both within that same narrow band, and the Chikou span has slipped below the price action of 26 sessions ago. RSI at 47 is just under the midline, and the 20 and 50 EMAs are less than one percent apart. The cloud is best understood as a zone of unresolved supply and demand rather than a line. When price trades inside it, the market has no settled reference, and that is precisely what every reading here is saying together. Volume at 1.07 times the 20 day average adds nothing either way. That neutrality sits oddly against the business. IHCL reported its 17th consecutive record quarter in Q1 FY27, with revenue near Rs 2,419 Cr, up about 15%, and profit after tax up 21% to around Rs 358 Cr. It signed 20 hotels and opened 11 in the quarter. Hospitality earnings are driven by room rates and occupancy on a largely fixed cost base, so revenue per available room flows through to profit with real leverage, while the management contract pipeline adds fee income without capital. The risks are the familiar ones for the sector, demand sensitivity to the economy and the execution of that pipeline. The stock is up about 9.5% over 60 sessions but down 2.4% in the last month, roughly 5% below its 60 day high of Rs 757.

indian hotel good volume on day chart and closing good

INDHOTEL
Company: The Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (Taj Hotels) Business: Hospitality, hotels, resorts, food & beverage and related businesses. 1. Fundamental view — Positive 🟢 IHCL delivered a strong FY26. Consolidated revenue was about ₹9,971 crore, versus ₹8,565 crore in FY25, while consolidated profit attributable to owners was about ₹2,084 crore. The latest Q1 FY27 performance was also strong: Consolidated revenue: ₹2,419 crore, +15% YoY EBITDA: ₹753 crore EBITDA margin: 31.1% PAT: about ₹358 crore, +20.8% YoY Domestic like-for-like RevPAR growth: 14% Portfolio: 645 hotels / 66,000+ keys Pipeline: 263 hotels So fundamentally, growth remains intact. 2. Major growth triggers The biggest positive is IHCL's continued expansion. The company added 20 signings and 11 openings in Q1 FY27. Another important development is the proposed Oriental Hotels merger, which would add around 825 rooms and is expected to improve scale and operating efficiency. The transaction is expected to cause roughly 1.6% dilution to existing IHCL shareholders. 3. Valuation — Important caution 🟠 The stock is not cheap on conventional valuation parameters. One recent market-data source showed a TTM P/E around 59x, with market capitalization above ₹1 lakh crore. Therefore, the story is excellent, but valuation leaves less room for disappointment. 4. Technical view For the technical analysis, I would specifically look at: Support: recent swing low + 50 DMA Major support: 200 DMA Resistance: previous all-time high / recent swing high I would not recommend buying merely because the company is fundamentally strong. For a technical entry, I would prefer either: Breakout above major resistance with strong volume, or Pullback toward major support followed by a bullish reversal.
