Gujarat Kidney and Super Speciality Ltd Company Analysis

GKSL
Gujarat Kidney and Super Speciality is a regional healthcare company operating mid-sized multispeciality hospitals in Gujarat, with a strong focus on nephrology, urology and secondary/tertiary care. The company has been pursuing an expansion-led strategy through acquisitions and new hospitals, while also increasing its renal-care infrastructure. Its IPO proceeds were earmarked for acquisitions, a new Vadodara hospital, robotics equipment and debt reduction, supporting a broader expansion of its hospital network. The company has delivered very strong topline growth following expansion. Q1 FY27 consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹342.9 crore, up 124.7% YoY and 12.1% QoQ. However, profitability has not grown at the same pace: EBITDA was ₹9.07 crore on consolidated financials, while PAT was ₹5.32 crore, broadly flat YoY. Operating margin declined to 26.45% from 56.55% in Q1 FY26, indicating that the recent revenue jump has come with a substantially higher cost base. The growth opportunity comes from higher bed capacity, acquisitions, increasing healthcare demand in Gujarat, renal-care expansion and potential utilisation improvement across newer facilities. The company also announced acquisition of 51% of UAE-based Blue Tree Clinics for ₹19.8 crore, indicating an initial step toward geographic diversification. At the latest snapshot, market capitalisation was about ₹1,366 crore, P/E 81.75x, P/B 5.41x, ROE 6.14% and debt-to-equity 0.12x. Key risks are the high valuation relative to current earnings, execution and integration risk from acquisitions, high capital requirements for hospital expansion, utilisation risk and pressure on margins during the expansion phase. The key factor to monitor is whether the rapid revenue growth can eventually translate into higher and more sustainable hospital-level profitability.
